clowndolly.jpg So many women just don’t get it. Less is more when it comes to makeup. No, babe, you’re wrong, this is the truth. No, I said. Just accept it. And there is no fashion in the application of makeup. No, I said.

I went shopping yesterday and faced shopping assistant after shopping assistant with eyes painted like racoons and cheeks plastered with foundation and other skin products, supposedly to hide blemishes but which only made them look one-dimensional and flat, not to mention the fact that they could barely answer my questions because their whole fucking face would crack when they opened their mouth. Lipstick had been applied in a way that would make both Dolly Parton and Coco the Clown envious.

Makeup is a litmus test for me when it comes to gauging what kind of a woman I’m dealing with. It answers the question “Does she have a clue?”. It is connected with the question “What background is she from?”. Surprisingly many women fail this test.

In my world, makeup is applied to improve looks, by highlighting beautiful parts of the face and distracting from the less beautiful parts, in order to feel better and to attract whomever you wish to attract.

It is not war paint.
